Think-Eat-Save campaign –Reduce your foodprint

The food waste is a massive global problem with negative implications on humanitarian, environmental and financial aspects. On the other hand, it appears that with simple and easy changes in the habits of consumers and producers is not difficult to change this paradigm.
A recent study showed that about one-third of all the food produced in the world is lost or wasted over the cycle of production and consumption. Approximately half of this amount is the result of consumer retail or industrialized regions that throw away foods that could be eaten.
The Think-Eat-Save campaign, Save Food initiative is a partnership of UNEP, FAO and the Messe Düsseldorf. The campaign is being promoted in support the challenge to Zero out the hunger of the UN Secretary General, which seeks to invest efforts in order to galvanize widespread actions global, regional and nationally; as well as catalyze more sectors of society to become aware of and act from the exchange of ideas and inspiring case studies between parties already involved and potential partners.
The Campanhar website is being offered as a portal for ideas, news and content, and as awareness for everyone to take action against this global problem.  To browse, click www.thinkeatsave.orgpo
